Romania
Dracula’s tomb is in a monastery on an island in beautiful Snagov Lake, Romania. It is carefully tended but when it was opened some years ago it was found to be empty!
France
The Cafe du Livre, a residential cafe for writers in the 
book town of Montolieu, as described in Chapters 1 and 2 of Vagabond Shoes.
Montolieu is close to Carcassone.
I spent quite some time soaking up its bookish atmosphere before venturing farther into Europe and beyond.
Cuba
A street scene in Havana catches the combination of fading colonial grandeur and seediness in the old town.
